Full custom ASIC design for truly cutting-edge applications
One of our special areas of expertise is ultra fast ASICs in commodity CMOS processes: this has applications in RF and where very low jitter is important, or mulit_Gbps communications. Our team has developed ASICs for most of the major applications and standards used today. We offer that expertise as a design service.
Click on the PDF for more information on our ASIC design capabilities, of large RF chips and examples of some of the mixed signal ASICs we have designed: 100 million transistors, over half of which is in full custom differential logic CMOS, running with picosecond resolution, or small communications ports running at 20Gbps in commodity CMOS processes.
| We are the largest independent design house in Scotland, and the largest ASIC design house in St Petersburg but we work with quality rather than numbers: by maintaining the most skilled and productive design engineers, modern EDA tools and an excellent attitude in working with our clients. These core assets give us the ability to execute extremely difficult designs quickly, handling the full spectrum of design in-house.
Another way we provide value-for-money is through our many IP blocks which we offer to customers licence-free: we charge only for our time to port the IP to their target process. These blocks cover most of the common RF and fast comms functions.
The ASIC Team is supported by a very experienced and capable electronics team that offers:
- Design of the most complex systems, such as for ATE and crypto-analysis requiring pcbs containing over 12,000 components per board yet these were brought smoothly and successfully into production
- Design of large FPGAs in Verilog, with experience of complex systems with over 50 FPGAs per board.
- Design of ultra high performance analogue (RF, ultra low noise, ultra stable, low drift).
Fixtures and application software for ASICs can be provided by Deep Life's Software team, who are experienced with complex systems in UML, SPARK ADA, C and C+, and automated software testing and quality control, including GUIs.
