Hydrostatic Imbalance Compliance to EN14143:2003 and NORSOK U-101 (11MB)
This is a comprehensive treatise on the theory and practice of hydrostatic imbalance measurement on rebreathers,
and includes the hydrostatic data for Deep Life's Open Revolution family of rebreathers. Comparative data is also
given for the Buddy Inspiration and Draeger Dolphin. The report shows that the Deep Life rebreathers meet
the hydrostatic imbalance requirements of EN14143:2003 and NORSOK U-101 in all configurations: with worst case harness,
worst case backplate, worse case counterlung covers. The configurations tested are of Back Mounted Counterlungs, Front Mounted Counterlungs,
Under-Arm Counterlungs and Over The Shoulder Counterlungs. This achievement is due to the exceptionally low Work Of Breathing
of the equipment, from use of the Micropore EACs, 36mm bore hoses and large section mushroom valves in the mouthpiece.
